Other descriptions: Lyme borreliosis or Borreliosis, Borrelia bacteria, chronic Lyme borreliosis.
The disease is caused by a bacterium found in the saliva of an infected tick. Fortunately, not all ticks are infected with this Borrelia bacteria. A tick digs itself into your pet's skin and sucks itself full of blood. During this process, the Borrelia bacteria can be transferred to your pet. An infected tick must be on your pet for at least 24 hours before a possible infestation can occur. It is therefore important that you check your pet for ticks after a walk in nature. It is best to remove any ticks as soon as possible with tick tweezers.
Lyme disease is most common in dogs, but it is rare in cats. People can also get Lyme disease, but only through direct contact with a tick, a pet cannot infect a person.
When a person is infected, a red ring or spot usually develops. This is not the case with a pet. The appearance of a bump where the tick has been says nothing at all about whether or not Lyme disease develops. Lyme disease is called a so-called multi-system disease. This means that it causes all kinds of different (vague) complaints. The onset of complaints does not always follow immediately after the infection, this can sometimes take years. Possible complaints are:
If Lyme disease is present for a long time, your pet is at risk of permanent damage to the kidneys or joints.
Once the Borrelia bacteria has entered your pet's body, it goes almost immediately through the bloodstream to the organs and the central nervous system. The bacterium is actually only detectable in the blood for a very short time. This makes this bacterium very difficult to detect with a blood test and difficult to combat with antibiotics. As a result, there is no reliable test that can determine whether your pet has Lyme disease. Your vet can really only determine whether your pet has Lyme disease based on the course of the disease and the symptoms.
The treatment of Lyme disease consists of three sub-treatments that are used simultaneously:
The treatment lasts 3 months. During these 3 months, all three formulas must be used continuously.
Ting Fow has no side effects and can be given for a long time, even for life.
